Chicago Symphony musicians William Buchman (assistant principal bassoon), Oto Carrillo (horn) and Brant Taylor (cello) discuss their connection to the orchestra and the city at large. And how they get to one of the best jobs in the world.
“Having a prominent location on Michigan Avenue really represents the important of this orchestra to this city,” observes Buchman, while Taylor adds, “You don’t have to know anything about the art form to come in the front doors of the hall.”
And Carrillo brings it home with “why not come and try it out, and see what you think. And hopefully, we’ll hook you.”
