Three Verdi productions from the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, conducted by Riccardo Muti, will be available for a limited time as free streams.

The works Simon Boccanegra, Ernani and Nabucco, all staged by the Rome opera house to celebrate the Verdi bicentennial, are being streamed on Simon Boccanegra bowed last week, with Ernani premiering May 5 and Nabucco beginning May 12. The full-length operas are among the many selections, including concerts, interviews and rehearsals, featured on the site’s digital streaming platform. Regarded as the world’s leading interpreter of Verdi, Muti also offers an introduction to each opera as he is seated at the piano.

The casts consist of several singers whom Muti, music director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, has led at Symphony Center: tenor Francisco Meli, baritone Luca Salsi, soprano Tatiana Serjan and basses Ildar Abdrazakov, Dmitry Belosselskiy and Riccardo Zanellato.
