Sir András Schiff returns to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra podium to lead Haydn’s Symphony no. 88 and his fellow Hungarian Béla Bartók’s Divertimento for String Orchestra. Conducting from the keyboard, he joins the Orchestra for Bach’s F minor keyboard concerto and Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto. The broadcast concludes with Vaughan Williams’s overture to Aristophanes’s play The Wasps, led by Sir Mark Elder.
