This week, music director Riccardo Muti leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, featuring actor John Malkovich as narrator in his CSO debut. The program also includes Walker’s Lyric for Strings and Dvořák’s New World Symphony. Rounding out the program is Ravel’s orchestration of Mussorgsky’s Pictures from an Exhibition.
