Susanna Mälkki returns to Orchestra Hall to lead the Chicago Symphony Orchestra through a diverse concert that features violinists Gil Shaham and Robert Chen. The program opens with Debussy’s first Images for Orchestra, followed by Bartók’s Second Violin Concerto, performed by Gil Shaham. The program closes with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Sheherazade, featuring CSO Concertmaster Robert Chen. Included as a bonus is Adès’s . . . but all shall be well from 2013.
