On Oct. 22, Music Director Riccardo Muti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra made their debut in Walt Disney Concert Hall, in a concert presented by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, to conclude the orchestra’s 2017 U.S. Fall Tour.

The appearance in Los Angeles marked the orchestra’s first appearance there since 1987 and Muti’s first podium appearance in the city in more than 30 years. The all-Brahms program came to a thrilling conclusion, with the audience on its feet for a standing ovation for Muti and the musicians. In response, Muti addressed audience members to thank them and congratulate them on their marvelous concert hall and then announced Schubert’s Entr’acte to Rosamunde as an encore.
