Sunday afternoon at St. Sabina Church, Yo-Yo Ma, musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Chicago Children’s Choir presented a Concert for Peace.
A concert that aimed to celebrate and inspire a more peaceful Chicago, the program included works by Scott Joplin, Antonín Dvořák, Duke Ellington and Aaron Copland, and remarks from the Rev. Michael Pfleger and Yo-Yo Ma. All donations and net ticket proceeds from the concert will benefit St. Sabina’s anti-violence and Strong Futures employment programs. Photos by Todd Rosenberg.
