Verdi’s Requiem received a repeat performance for the third tour concert at Tokyo’s Bunka Kaikan. Joining the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Riccardo Muti were guest soloists soprano Vittoria Yeo, tenor Francisco Meli, mezzo-soprano Daniela Barcellona and bass Dmitry Belosselskiy, as well as the Tokyo Opera Singers.
Ahead of the concert, CSO musicians visited Tokyo’s famous Sensō-ji Temple, the city’s oldest and perhaps most significant, and the shopping area nearby. Back at the hall, musicians and staff celebrated Maestro Muti’s 400th performance with the orchestra.
