For the second concert at Tokyo’s Bunka Kaikan, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Riccardo Muti returned to one of their signature works: the Verdi Requiem. Joining the CSO and Muti were guest soloists soprano Vittoria Yeo, tenor Francisco Meli, mezzo-soprano Daniela Barcellona and bass Dmitry Belosselskiy, as well as the Tokyo Opera Singers.
Before the performance, CSO musicians, including Oto Carrillo, Sunghee Choi, Russell Hershow, Michael Hovnanian and Vadim Karpinos, visited Higashiyama Elementary, a public school in the Meguro district of Tokyo, for a special outreach program organized by NBS and the Neuganee Music Institute.
