For the last stop on their European Tour 2017, Chicago Symphony Orchestra musicians, staff and Riccardo Muti rolled into Frankfurt, Germany, for a concert at the city’s historic Alte Oper. Built in the 1880s, the historic venue was almost completely destroyed during World War II but was restored and renovated in the decades since. The CSO had traveled to Frankfurt by bus from Baden-Baden, where musicians enjoyed a day off, which many spent sightseeing, shopping or just relaxing.
