On this week’s broadcast, John Storgårds leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in a program featuring Ray Chen in Wieniawski’s rarely performed Violin Concerto No. 1.  This program also includes Jennifer Higdon’s blue cathedral and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4.  The broadcast concludes with a 1983 recording of Claudio Abbado leading the orchestra in Mozart’s Oboe Concerto in C Major featuring principal oboe Ray Still.
