In this week’s broadcast, Christoph Eschenbach leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Weber’s Overture to Die Freischütz followed by Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor, featuring soloist David Fray. The program continues with the Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Symphony No. 4 in A Major both by Mendelssohn and concludes with Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloe, Suite No. 2 led by Jean Martinon from a 1964 RCA Recording.
