A video of the CSO’s Lullaby Project, an undertaking of the CSO’s Negaunee Music Institute, received honors at the 57th annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards ceremony Nov. 7. Local broadcasters and filmmakers were lauded for their achievements in more than 26 categories during a black-tie ceremony held at Redmoon Theatre in the South Loop.
Samantha Sanders, John Farbrother and Alicia Sams of Green River Films, which produced the CSO Lullaby Project video, received an Emmy in the category Outstanding Achievement for Human Interest Programming: Program/Special/Series/Segment.
This marks the second year that the CSO’s Negaunee Music Institute participated in the Lullaby Project, a program of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute and the Irene Taylor Trust. The project supports the creation and online sharing of lullabies by young parents nationwide. For the project, CSO artists and musicians of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago worked with the Chicago Child Care Society and its Teen Parenting Initiative.
