The Chicago Symphony Orchestra took New York’s Carnegie Hall by storm, with three concerts over the weekend, including a live broadcast over the WFMT-FM Network. The Financial Times observed that “a mood of communal ecstasy prevailed” over the theater, while the New York Classical Review declared, “The Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Riccardo Muti is almost the Platonic ideal of what a symphony orchestra should sound like.”
